in the case of the Beach Boys, Brian was deaf in one ear and Stereo didn't mean anything to him, so needless to say all the singles were MONO, but for some reason if they showed up on album they were sometimes availible in Stereo.
the one hit wonders only did 45 singles which were only Mono, and were mixed as such.
i've never heard a Stereo version of Good Vibrations, unless it was re-done since 1966 or some kind of simulated Stereo which is pretty bad.
i would think the "Policy" would always be play the BEST quality "original" cut at any radio station.
