The 1984 Reunion of the Rock and Roll Radio Greats on
Rewound Radio!
August 14 & 15, 2010
On August 18 & 19,
1984 New York City radio station WCBS-FM featured a reunion
of some of the great New York City top 40 DJ's from WABC and WMCA.
It was a historic radio event for both the listeners and the DJ's.
It was also a lot of fun to listen to
since, at that time, those stations were still recent memories
and the DJ's themselves were still in top form.
Rewound Radio is featuring the entire
weekend just as it happened in 1984.
The shows will air in order and start at the times they originally did.
You'll get a chance to hear it all as it originally unfolded!
This is probably the biggest "aircheck
event" that has ever been attempted.
We're not just playing back one show.
We're presenting an entire weekend of shows... in order!
A huge thanks goes to WFME Chief Engineer
Charlie Menut
who tracked down the airchecks and then painstakingly converted them for use on
Rewound Radio.
This was a huge job and Charlie carefully managed each detail.
