ONCE AGAIN, FOR THE NINTH STRAIGHT
YEAR, I started this project in 1998 in an attempt to keep the feel and excitement of the WABC "Top Hits" year-end countdowns and also to find out how a true and unbiased calculation would compare to "All-Time" surveys that are featured on many radio stations during the year and especially during the holiday season. This year, we're adding even more "upgrades" to help ensure that our list is as accurate and representative of your favorites as possible. First of all, we're taking votes on your top SEVEN favorites instead of just your five all-time favorites. When we expanded from three votes to five votes last year, we saw a greater variety and an even more accurate reading of your favorites. Through statistical samples and "dry runs", we determined that asking for your favorite seven songs would yield the most accurate list based on the projected number of voters. Secondly, we're adding links from Bob Shannon's Behind the Hits web site and Ron Kovacs' RadioMaxMusic web site. These two sites, which are friends of the MusicRadio77 site, help balance the list of voted songs from the pre-50's and 50's right through the most recent years. Your response continues to be fantastic each year with thousands of votes coming in. What started out as a project that I could handle completely on my own has now turned into a labor of love that I could not complete without the help of Tom Natoli and several others that we will be crediting over the next few months. So, vote today before time slips away. Votes will be counted through Sunday, December 10 at midnight. Vote ONLY for up to SEVEN of your favorite songs, preferably in numbered order from #1 to #7. The results will be published Christmas Week (just like WABC used to do with its "Top 100 Of The Year"). Please VOTE ONLY ONCE! Duplicate votes or any other attempts to unfairly affect the results will be disqualified. Thanks to our staff of internet sleuths, cheating has become quite easy to track after doing this for eight years. So, please, show respect to yourself, other voters, and the site by not attempting to stuff the ballot box. Have fun...and may the best songs win!
As in past years, attempts to "stuff the ballot box" will be disqualified.
