Dear folks,
I'm in my dorm room and I can see the smoke billowing up from downtown. Six
close friends of mine worked in the world trade center and the sky is
deathly silent. People are calm, but the tragedy of this is insane- insane.
By now you've heard about the pentagon, the plains in the air, and the
monument which we will never see again. But here in New York, it's utter
insanity. I prayed with devotion for the first time in recent memory. I
broke down into tears inside the chapel after I heard that the second towere
collapsed. In it may have been my friends, distant family, and more
importantly, more people than I can even imagine dying.
Folks, I never I'd say this, but pray. Pray for the memory of the lives
lost. Pray for the safety of the best and wisest republic ever to exist upon
this earth. Pray for those you love and for those things dear to you. And
pray that such acts never happen again. Pray for those scores of fireman,
policeman, and civil servants who gave their lives in public today. Our
Republic and way of life are under attack. And stay strong. May God help us
all and God bless America and New York City.
With deepest sadness,
Stay Strong
