I had the pleasure to talk to John "Records" Landecker today...former PM Drive jock at Chicago's WLS. What Dan Ingram is to NY, Mr. Landecker was to Chicago. These days Mr. Landecker is doing personality TALK radio since what he used to do does not exist anymore. He told me it's pretty much the same thing, but without the music, and having to interact with a co-host and a different type of call in audience. He fills in at Indianapolis' WIBC and and WLS among other stations. We both agree that what is happening to radio today is a shame, and what was considered barely passable years ago is now considered the norm. How sad is that? Corporate radio is the worst thing to happen to this business, as it is the listeners that lose.
