That's because radio hasn't given listeners a reason to establish that bond because they've forced all jocks to be robots. Give the listeners a reason and they'll care about who they're listening to.

When radio was at its best, listeners tuned to both a station and a jock. We listened to Dan Ingram or Bruce Morrow or Murray the K or Rosko or Alison Steele, etc. WMCA, WABC and WINS in its music days all played pretty much the same music. But people tuned to a particular show. Why? Because of the personality of the jock and how we related to him (or her).

I completely agree with Allan on this one. Eventually, someone will be smart enough to bring personality back to radio and once again create differentiation.
