Because two stations can appeal to the same demo with different formats. Consider 2001 K-Rock and WNEW. Both were targeting the same demo with different formats (one music, the other talk).

Sirius is about attracting subscribers, not appealing to a lucrative demo. Satellite radio can have one esoteric music station on top of another because, collectively, they can pull in subscribers from many different directions to support the entire concept.

Not a strong argument for this station. There are so few satellite radio listeners in any one market listening to any one satellite station as to make them irrelevant to a station that needs a much, MUCH larger base.
