A couple of observations:
WLTW still rules... and is KILLING WWFS. In fact, WWFS' numbers are not good. About the same as the year before when it was "Mix" instead of "Fresh".
WPLJ looks pretty good so why was Citadel having a meltdown over it? All you can deduce is that its early numbers for 2008 must be down. And 'PLJ is also way up on Fresh.
WINS/WCBS-AM. Big difference in their respective Arbitron ratings... but not their revenues. And for all the talk about "desirable demos" on FM, these two stations on AM are at near the top. You can squeeze a lot of ads into an all news format.
The big secret to Z 100 is that its very strong in 25-54 hence its strong billing. If I were CBS-Radio, I'd sure be looking at that for either WWFS or WXRK.
I'd be concerned if I were an Urban format. The revenue should be better given their Arbitron ratings and the PPM's may make things worse.
WABC had better get a bump from Imus. It gets decent ratings but not its revenue doesn't follow. Compared to WCBS/WINS/WFAN, it's got to do better for Citadel.
WFAN apparently took a hit from losing Imus. For all those who questioned Imus' presence on WFAN for all those years, now you know why he was there.
It's hard to know how the rock format is billing on WXRK given that it spent part of 2007 as Free FM. But you would have thought the talk format on 92.3 would have billed better. If nothing else, you can program more commercials in any kind of talk format. Regardless, the music format doesn't appear to be doing any better.
WRXP (formerly WQCD) really wasn't billing. No wonder Emmis wanted a change. They better hope the PPM's are friendly to rock stations.
WCBS-FM. The station spent half the year as JACK so it's hard to tell. It certainly appears "Greatest Hits" is better than "JACK" given it went up some (when most everyone else was down). But it's not hitting it out of the park either.
Interesting that WOR was down. The loss of Grant?
