I can't figure out why Fresh-FM continues to follow two imprudent paths...

A) Muzzling their DJs. Lite DJs are limited in how much time they have to speak, but they still are encouraged to be personalities. Fresh-FM DJs have to follow an incredibly restrictive script. Nearly everything they say has been written for them ahead of time. They can't even say their LAST NAMES! They sound voice tracked 24/7, even though posters here have said the station is only voice-tracked overnight.

B) In a city so diverse, why do they have a music format of only one black artist per hour? If Lite-FM is tops, both in ratings and billing, why buck Lite's policy of every other song being rhythmic and every other song being pop?

Fresh has not only plateaued, but fallen back from where they were a few books ago. If things aren't working with their restrictive and very white format, why not allow the DJs some latitude and add more rhythmic AC music to the playlist?

Deciding to go more youthful than Lite makes sense. But why be so restrictive, so white and as Allan points out, have a presenation that's so female-oriented, men feel this is not a station they'd be comfortable with?
