Thanks to Steve Gilinsky and Allan Sniffen for their help in passing on all the Birthday best wishes to me from so many of you, my radio friends on the Message Board. Thank you for you kind comments and for all the memories.
You mentioned WMCA and "The Good Guys", WABC and the "All Americans" and CBS-FM. As I've often said, you all kept me on the air all those years and I've always appreciated it.
I enjoy talking with Mark Simone on his "Saturday Night Oldies Show" and hearing all those Super 77 jingles again. It's great to hear longtime listeners calling in with their memories of those Music Radio WABC days.
Recently, there were questions posted about my move from WMCA on a Saturday to WABC on the following Monday. Did I have a producer and did I do "Run Thrus" before I started? No I did not have a producer and I really don't remember and "Run Thrus". I did visit "HOA" off the air a few days before I joined the station, but it was just a few minutes and we only spoke about his leaving. The "Board Ops" were there and they guided me through the mechanics of the operation. They all were great guys and did a super job and I always appreciated them and all the staff that I worked with during those years. They all contributed to the huge success of the radio station. However, I must say that I think the most important part of our success was you-our loyal listeners-my radio friends.
