The particular board I was talking about has a tendency for the most two often used channels to go soft. I think it might be due to buffer overloading or something similar.
At any rate, to incorporate it into our operation requires constant engineering intervention.
Even with the incorporation of the Canadian equipment Leitch, I find the systems to be overly complicated and too interdependent.
Our SBE chapter meets at the Harris plant and we get to play with their toys a lot, plus the designers often attend and explain the complexities and why they should work better than they do.
Yes, things have progressed from the Gatesway and the "shovel" series, I'm not convinced to the better! As a sidebar, I knew Parker Gates personally and he was dedicated to simple, yet workable equipment until Harris Intertype bought them out.
