There is a TON of hash on adjacent frequencies thanks to IBOC.
When 'BLI eventually turns their H-D signal on, it will destroy 105.9 anywhere east of Route 110.
That being said, 'BLI's signal has been badly hurt in Nassau thanks to 105.9 already having their IBOC on (I believe theirs came on in 2005)
92.3 turned their IBOC on in September of 2005. Before it came on, I was able to hear Country 92.5 from Hartford in my car in Wantagh. Now it's all hash and you have to get a few miles into Suffolk to pull it in now.
As many have said in the past on here- to the average listener none of this makes any difference. It's only a big deal to radio geeks/dxers like myself.
The 105.9/106.1 problem has always been there in Eastern Nassau/Western Suffolk because the frequencies are too close- the IBOC just makes a bad situation with reception worse.
