Craig, that's the way the game is played in your metro market. Everyone claims that there is more than solid proof that the "older" demos are of no value to the advertisers.

In smaller markets, it is so easy to sell "older" demos because stations are bought mostly through local sales and are purchased on perception. Although the numbers bear out your data, it must conflict with the research. I have yet to figure it out, but New York is a very special market. One would think that the younger the demo the greater the numbers, but it isn't the number of listeners, it's their ages that seem to count most.

I've asked for proof of that data, but so far, never have been provided with it.
