While this is kind of not on topic, I agree with Craig.
The real money is with older listeners, NOT younger who now, as we have discovered, appreciate their ipods, computers, and cell phones over broadcast radio.
My advertising dollars would be with the older generations, and that means country music, standards and the like.
Sure, the marketers think I'm wrong, but I'm sure the money in their pockets aren't weighing them down right now.....therefore it is time to change to the obvious.
WQXR is not a highly rated station nor do they bill high, but it is consistant income. Pulse is bankrupt.
Three stations in one market doing the same thing and leaving formats completely open is just strange.
Have we just proved that the marketers' are wrong? Well we knew that, but we needed proof.
As more and more listeners leave radio (as we currently know it; the future means 'different' and the future is near)our targets should be those we know listen to radio. Last I heard Sat Broadcasting has a lot of paid listeners leaving.
So, what will 'we' offer to those unsatisfied listeners?
