Carl, year after year you miss the point.
Yes, everyone knows older listeners have more disposible income. That's not news.
The point is that younger listeners are more impressionable so that advertising works much better on them. Or, to put it differently, older listeners are far less influenced by advertising.
So, if you're going to buy advertising time on radio (or anyplace else), where are you going to invest your money? On a station that has listeners that will be more influenced by your pitch or on a station where listeners will be less influenced? Answer that question correctly and you've got the reasoning!
