No one here seems to have considered the possibility that, as the result of there being fewer music stations targeting older demos, the audience is not as fragmented as music stations targeting younger demos, resulting in higher overall numbers for stations like Q and CBS-FM. Or the possibility that some stations targeting younger listeners are having a tough time, because they are competing for a demo that, in some part, has been alienated from radio and which is just as comfortable using many other alternatives to hear their music (which often is music not heard on the radio anyway).
I'll also agree with the poster who pointed out that Lite FM is not really an older-leaning station. They play *a lot* of contemporary and recent pop hits and have significantly scaled back the older and often "liter" music that was once associated with the station.
