>>>Hannity is a cheap, relentlessly dishonest downscale demagogue, which you persist in making believe is "good radio".<<<

C'mon Jay. I'm far from a fan of what his show sounds like now. I'm as sick of that "thank you for all you do" patronizing sound as anyone. If Bob Grant's 1980's WABC show were competing against what Hannity's doing now, it wouldn't even be close.

>>>It is crap, and it will always be crap, no matter how much make-up you or anyone else smears all over it.<<<

It's entertainment Jay. It's not the "Jim Lehrer News Hour". You keep making the same mistake. You hold these shows to a standard that is not appropriate. It's like arguing "American Idol" should present itself like "Sixty Minutes". I don't disagree with you that a lot of talkradio is "crap". It is. But so what? Your standard is ridiculous.

>>>As for the Louima case. The victim was Louima, not Volpe. <<<

Jay, I'm not arguing the merits of the case. Nor am I suggesting that Hannity was either right or wrong. I'm only pointing out that it was compelling radio at the time. Do you understand that?

>>>Hannity and all the other low-brow hate merchants have polluted the civic and the political culture of our country, <<<

If you want to go on a crusade against accuracy in the entertainment industry, you can find far more egregious examples than talkradio. But, again, the key word is *entertainment*. It's you who has come up with your own set of rules. It's like me deciding that everyone should drive at 40 MPH and, therefore, everyone who drives at 65 is "bad". In my mind, they are. But in virtually everyone else's mind, they're abiding by the accepted standard.

>>>It is vile poison.<<<

Now it's you, not they, who is using exaggerated commentary to make a point. Even if you're right that talkradio is on the wrong track, this way of expressing it is doing exactly what they do. "Vile poison" is hyperbole.
