Bob you are right for stations like WLTW and WHUD being consistent is important. Unfortunately most stations do not promote individual shows or dayparts any more.
Bob one of the reasons WLTW is a success for so long is that you never made the audio processing too offensive for the audience. Give youself some of the credit for the success.
