Grant, Limbaugh, Gambling, and Dobbs on the other hand, are first and foremost entertainers on an entertainment medium. They draw in many folks (well, me anyway) with their easy patter and form of shtick. Not a simple task by the way; Beck, Sliwa, Savage, and others try their hand at it and come off as repetitive clowns with all the appeal of fingernails on a chalkboard.

The difference in talent is clear.

I recall that Jay entered the radio business at Bob Grant's knee (some of his early stuff was great, particularly the impressions and skits) but I think any lessons from the master were lost on him, or so it seems recently. Sad.
