Allan, you're an example of someone who has managed to do just that. You've made a name in New York radio through your own vision, without having to own a station or slog through small markets or abide by external management imperatives.
Multiply by bloggers, podcasters and webkeepers of every stripe, and I'd argue the ground rules have changed for the better.
