It was mentioned on the Joe Benigno/Evan Roberts midday show & during the opening of the "Mike'd Up" (Mike Francesa) show today that their last weekday shows from the Kaufman Astoria Studios in Queens would be on Friday, October 9th, 2009.

Mike especially showed much trepidation about the move, being as it will increase his travel time from Long Island. Prior to the 5:20pm "Sports Flash", Francesa called the move an "utter disaster" as he commiserated with update man John Minko about Minko's change in travel plans from New Jersey (train/subway instead of auto). Francesa also mentioned that this was a move "dreamed up years ago by somebody that's no longer with the company" (my guess: Joel Hollander?). One article I found was dated January 6, 2007. In typical N.Y. Post fashion it plays up the building's proximity to Hot 97's studios nearby. (See link below.)

No word on when the actual "on-air switchover" to the 345 Hudson St./Manhattan studios will occur (I assume over the weekend or Monday morning 10/12/09). Feel free to update with further info.
