WOR radio has started its own social network website, with the name mentioned above. The site dies not have much on it at the moment, but appears to have the potential to evolve into something interesting. It offers, among other features, the opportunity to chat online with WOR personalities Steve Malzberg, and Dr. Joy Browne.
I believe the unusual aspect of this site is that it is independent of Facebook, My Space, Twitter and the other major social network sites. Instead, it is apparently being operated by WOR itself. According to the station, it is "the only radio station-run online community of its kind, enabling listeners to connect with each other as well as their favorite hosts and staff. Users are able to interact through group threads, user wires, and live chats.”
