Is it possible that Jim was one of the pioneers of the all-oldies format?

I say that because, back in 1971, (it was the day of the Italian American Civil Rights League rally in Columbus Circle), my entire family took a trip to Atlantic City.

I had a portable FM radio with me at the time, and remember going up and down the dial, and came upon CAU-FM, which must have just flipped from “Fascinatin’ Rhythm” to all oldies…and lo and behold, who’s voice do I hear as the jock on the air? Jim Nettleton’s.

Would anybody know when he started there, and when CAU-FM became an oldies station? I guess it took about a year before CBS-FM eventually did the same!
