I can tell you the date....it was in 1971. My family owned a bakery business in Brooklyn at the time; and because the entire neighborhood shut down for the Italian American Civil Rights League rally in Columbus Circle, we all decided to go to Atlantic City instead.
It was on that trip that I discovered Jim Nettleton on CAU-FM...and yes, I thought it was voice-tracked at the time as well.
