I listened to an hour and a half of today's first Jim & Kim morning show on Fresh 102.7
They really sounded great and the show sounded good, fairly similar to their old KJOY show.
Kim is doing a news FYI every half hour (all the same few stories) with her giving the weather at the end. Jim sounds good as usual, there were a few seconds of dead air here and there as a couple of sounders didn't fire right away as could be expected. They both made jokes about the blank spaces, which fit for their first day. They also did a few of their morning contests and the "helium theatre" too. They said they had to go through a lot of songs to find some for their Wednesday "boombox" oldie songs, before the management approved some.
I thought that the only weak sounding part was the use of their "producer extrordinaire" (I forget his name)as the traffic reporter. He really sounded average, and seemed out of place in that role. Their traffic reporters on KJOY were always professional from Metro, I assume.
I think they are going to add a lot of energy and put a good start on the Fresh 102.7 day. I hope they do well there. They are a really nice pair together on the air.
