You are correct. In 1969 NBC carried the World Series with Curt Gowdy and Lindsay Nelson calling the games at Shea and the Orioles' announcer would be with Gowdy for the games in Baltimore. I always felt that this was a fair way for the network to satisfy the fans of each team and at the same time expose various local announcers to the rest of the country. If FOX wants to have Buck and McCarver during the World Series, fine but they should have the third person from the broadcast team of the home team.
