The frequency doesn't matter at all, and there's no special virtue to the commercial radio model where a non-commercial approach is viable. WQXR has survived, with more music and fewer interruptions per hour. I think it's out of danger for decades to come; this is an occasion to celebrate rather than lament. WCAA's audiences are entitled to their tastes and preferences as well, and have earned a superior signal through their numbers and purchasing power.
