One would hope you had excellent reception this close to the transmitter. The reception issues really kick in about 40 miles out from the Empire state Building.

Over the weekend, I did an "A/B" comparison on Route 22 in New Jersey, driving 40 miles out. 96.3 was pretty solid with minimal "picket fencing." However, this issue was a lot more present at 105.9

While 96.3 is transmitting with just under 6000 watts, 105.9 is at just under 600 watts, both from the exact same antenna. While these numbers appear dramatic, in reality the difference between interference free contours is only about 10 miles.
