You're right in terms of the short-term dollars. However, Russo's lack of visibility probably isn't good if he's concerned about a long-term career. You also have to think about whether Sirius/XM will continue Russo's contract when it ends. Unless subscriptions increase over the next few years, the company will continue bleeding money, and it's easy to cut his salary without significant pain.
