Alan Chartock, CEO of WAMC, is not one to cede territory. And he's expert at monetizing it. WAMC went full power in Oneonta a couple of years ago at 99.3 but continues to operate the old translator at 88.9, for no apparent reason other than to keep it out of the hands of a WRVO or WCNY or a religion operator.

Chartock's encroachment from the north resembles a Revolutionary War campaign. WNYC should arm and respond accordingly.
