Jimmy Wayne has redone "Sara Smile", with Hall and Oates also singing backup on his version of the record.
Wayne is somewhat of a "New Country Newcomer" (as they used to say on Y-107). His first single charted in the Spring of 2003 "Stay Gone" and he's had 6 songs chart on the Top 40 Country charts since:
"I Love You This Much" (Late 2003)
"You Are" (Early 2004)
"Paper Angels" (Late 2004)
"Do You Believe Me Now" (Last Fall- Only #1)
"I Will" (Early 2009)
"Sara Smile" (Current)
Having Hall and Oates on the record reminds me of the time when the R&B group AZ YET redid "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" back in 1997 and Peter Cetera made a cameo appearance on their version and thus got play on CHR's around the country once again.
As for the Pure Prarie League songs, they've been played on Country radio for years, Vince Gill was a member of the group of course.
