I'd like to add my condolences to family and friends of Hank Spann.

His tenure at WWRL did not overlap mine, but he is one of the parade of outstanding personalities who passed through that great station.

Rocky G was doing afternoons during my years there and I wish him the very best. Please say hello for me.

When I was there, the lineup was Enoch Hawthorne Gregory "The Dixie Drifter" 6-10A, Hal Atkins 10-1P, Bob T 1-3P, Rocky G 3-7, Frankie Crocker 7-10P, Fred Barr (gospel) 10-12M, and Lonnie Sheppard overnights.

We had three regular newscasters: Roy Whitfield in mornings, Clarence Rock middays, and Dick London afternoons.

The station also featured sports reports with Art Rust Jr. and homemaking tips from Alma John.

I think Al Gee and Jeff Troy were incoming toward the end of my two-year stint.

Pretty outstanding line-up, I'd say. And WWRL had the power to break a record in 2-3 weeks if it was going to be a hit at all. Countless hits broken by WWRL then crossed-over to WMCA and WABC.
