I was very sorry to learn of the death of Hank Spann. This is a true loss. They don't make them like Hank Spann anymore and the sad reality is if a guy like that were starting out in the business today, he wouldn't be allowed to sound the way he did on WWRL. He would be reduced to reading liner cards or voice tracking and of course playing from a very limited playlist of songs.
It was an honor to sit next to you a couple of years ago, Bobby Jay. This was during a gathering of people who enjoy oldies at Benn's Deli in New York.
You deserve to be back on the air full time in New York doing whatever you want. It's a sad comment on the state of broadcasting that you are not heard in the number one market or on Sirius.
