That WNBC line up in 1985 was really eclectic:Imus,Soupy,Howard and Jack Spector with a sports show. Some really amazing radio.

I do remember Soupys last day on WNBC in early '87. He was taking phone calls from listeners all commenting on the shabby treatment he was getting on WNBC. Soupy even said he thought this would be his last show, and he was gone by 11:30,an hour and a half into his show. Dale Parsons(I think)finished the show without mentioning Soupy.

Soupy had an axe to grind and did it on the air. I found it very honest compelling radio that had me glued. With Howard or Imus you couldn't tell if it was schtick, but Soupy always came off very real on the air.
