After my initial excitement at even being able to pull in the signal, I grown increasingly disappointed with the 105.9 frequency. If static and noise-filled place for classical music is all there is in New York City, then there is no point in listening at all. Classical music is full of dynamics, that means soft as well as loud sections. If I can't listen to quiet passages because they are competing with noise then all I can say is that this move is nothing short of a disaster for fans of this music. Choice in music seems to be a cross between the old WQXR and WNYC-FM -- some interesting choices but certainly not as diverse as the latter. As a person that likes "modern" sounds, I find myself going online for that when I'm in the office or at home.
Perhaps this is all that classical music fans can have in the current radio environment but I find the move to 105.9 intolerable from a listening standpoint.
