Not as many people are as politically polarized as those who post on this board. In my radio career, I "endorsed" (via the spots I had to read AND write)various candidates from both parties. I say "endorsed" because I had to read the spots and I was only one of two voices that the station had.
If we are going to carry this out to the ultimate conclusion, we could conceivably open up another area in the field, that of political spot reader (still trying to figure out how to make money regularly from that)......but ban "Democratic" announcers from reading "republican" ads and visa versa.
And political ads should NOT run during specific shows because that would demonstrate "endoresement".
If, for example, during a show on Air America, even during the breaks, stations should NOT be allowed (I know, this is censorship) to run spots for any right wing candidate or cause.
Censoring the airways will put a stop to any confusion created by this type of activity.
