You're blaming the wrong guy. Shannon's job, in this case as the show's imaging voice, is to read what is put in front of him.
Yes, the copy is horrible. But Shannon isn't endorsing it and he's not using his name (it's irrelevant that Hannity sometimes mentions him).
The real issue (which I agree with) is Hannity's show is terrible. There's nothing innovative with this exaggerated "the sky is falling" approach. He's taken Limbaugh's "The Clinton Presidency: America Held Hostage" bit from the nineties and shoved it into the Obama Era. It sounds terrible because:
1. Limbaugh already did it.
2. There is virtually nothing smart about anything Hannity says
3. It's overly hyped and exaggerated
4. It encourages the usual sycophant callers which are exacerbating the problem.
5. His credibility is evaporating as this approach goes on.
I'm very disappointed with Sean and it gives me no pleasure to criticize his show because I personally like him. But in the context of the way his radio show (and to some extent TV show) comes across, he's becoming an almost clown-like character. Where are his managers? Don't they see what's happening?
But... to the point... don't blame Shannon for that. He's got nothing to do with content. He reads the scripts.
