Hey, for the record, I'm not *blaming* Shannon for anything! His job is to read the copy or quit the gig. Agreed 100%. As I said, if it were me, I'd probably hold my nose and keep the gig. Not everyone would. I know a voice-over person who has steadfastly turned down jobs for furriers and medical companies that do testing on animals over the years because of her beliefs. Somebody else took those jobs so, did she really make a difference? Who knows.
My only point is that *if* Scott Shannon has a moral or philosophical problem with the copy, (and we don't know that he does) it might be more difficult for him to rationalize walking away now, since the level of absurdity has been kicked up gradually over the years.

There's nothing innovative with this exaggerated "the sky is falling" approach. // ... in the context of the way his radio show (and to some extent TV show) comes across, he's becoming an almost clown-like character. Where are his managers? Don't they see what's happening?<<
Again, couldn't agree more. But it's not only Hannity. His managers must be looking at Glenn Beck's skyrocketing ratings and thinking maybe Hannity isn't being outrageous enough! Sadly, most of talk radio has become a circus and it won't stop until the audience has had enough of it.
