I think this is the point. There are some people whose voices are so recognizable that they can't get away with saying "hey, it's just a VO gig, I'm reading a script." These are people who don't have to use their name for you to know who they are when you hear them. Maybe Scott Shannon is in that category and maybe he's not, but that category exists.
