I second Alan's remarks, Tony. Good job! You helped to promote and open up an unserved market and, in the process, proved to a lot of naysayers that a sizable market exists for the format.

One of the things I remember hearing from the promoters of consolidation years ago was that it would increase variety and allow for more "niche" formats. The line was that the strength of the large group, with its two or three ratings grabbers in each market would help to carry the lesser listened-to stations. The big guys would support the smaller guys in each group. New formats would be allow to grow and listeners would get more choices. Unfortunately, very little of that has happened.

Had that actually occurred, New York probably wouldn't have been without a dance station (or country station, for that matter).
