The article in Wikipedia for Long Island's dance/hip-hop station Party 105 is asserting that they will be leasing WNYZ to simulcast their programming into the New York City area.
Of course this should be taken as rumor rather than fact, but at least the article about Pulse 87 got it right- they did go off the air today.
If correct, a deal with Party 105 could help explain the fact that 87.75 is still airing automated dance music, perhaps in a bid to keep part of Pulse's audience tuned to the frequency over the weekend. I wonder whether Party's owners, JVC Media, actually have the funds to lease WNYZ.
BTW, Party 105 now uses the call WPTY, instead of its former WDRE.
