For months, I have been an avid listener of Pulse 87. I describe it as being my natural mood elevator. I have run into many other listeners who have had similar feelings about the Pulse. During this rough patch, I have taken it upon myself to speak to Joel Salkowitz and pledge my personal support in trying to keep the station alive. We must now take it up a notch. This dance format is so good ... so cutting edge. We must do everything within our powers to resurrect it. I have reached out to another fan and listener named John Tabacco, President of LocateStock.com. He is also the CEO of UBATV.com. He and I, like many of the listeners, are from the outer boroughs. John Tobacco is trying, on his end, to rescue this company and bring it back to life. With my eighteen years of experience in talk radio at WABC, I have told John that I will lend my expertise in sales and in promotions. I have spoken with Tony Santiago of the New York Dance Music Coalition, who no doubt is this station's #1 fan and cheerleader. I have pledged my undying support to him so that The Pulse can keep beating.
I would hope that the listeners and supporters who will appear at the Pulse Party Saturday night at Club Exit on Greenpoint Avenue in Brooklyn will now know that tactical air support is on its way.
I want to personally thank Andre Dre Dog. Often, I would call him on the listener line during his shift to ask him about the name and artist of the song that had just played. Without knowing who I was, he would consistently go out of his way to accommodate me. I also attend many street fairs throughout the five boroughs. Whenever the Pulse promotion team was present, they had the crowd energized and excited. And their attitudes were always cool, calm, collected and accommodating.
Earlier tonight (Friday 10/30), I spoke of my love for The Pulse on my nationally syndicated talk program on WABC. Below is a link from my broadcast about Pulse 87.
This is a time for AM listeners to join FM listeners --- talk radio listeners to join music radio listeners. The battle we must wage is so that great radio can survive. The Pulse 87 is as good as it gets. To that cause, I dedicate myself.
Yours truly,
