Where are the studio's located? I think they are in the Hamptons, tough to get radio talent out there, especially in the winter, especially for $8 hour.
As someone who drove 70 miles to work at a great Long Island radio station in my youth, no one does that anymore. Youth that even dreams of a radio career would never drive like that now. When you consider that station pays less per hour now than it did in 1990, gas has tripled in cost and so has everything else, you aren't likely to get the cream of the crop.
The clubs pay more, are closer to home and have more women waiting for the disc jockey's after the gig than any radio station ever did.
