Looks like what they're doing is rolling the dice to put new life into struggling FMs in their portfolios at a competitor's expense. It may work out...but then again, taking Rush away from dominant AMs in other markets like Minneapolis-St. Paul, or getting dumped from the dominant AM in Baltimore, didn't hurt Rush's former affiliates at all. If he helped the new stations he landed on, it was at someone else's expense.

The trades indicate the stations losing Rush are expected to put the help wanted sign out for new local hosts rather than bring in another syndicated show. It'll be interesting to see how that goes...past history favors the former Rush stations that went local, like WBAL and KSTP, we'll see if history repeats itself in NC.
