Scott Muni on WABC
January 31, 1963
Here's a rare
Scott Muni aircheck courtesy of Gary Liebisch from about the same time as the
above survey.
The quality could be better but Gary did his best to clean it up.
We have so little of Scott on WABC that it's much appreciated!

Dan Ingram and Soupy Sales in 2007

On November 14, 1986 (21
years before this photo) Soupy Sales interviewed Dan Ingram on WNBC.
This is an interview I heard at the time but did not record.
A big thanks goes out to John Troll who tracked it down and sent it to me.
I've been looking for it for years given that I have almost every other radio
interview Dan ever gave.
It's very interesting
because it's during the time when Dan was not on the air.
WABC had gone talk, Dan had finished his six months on WKTU and was still years
away from doing weekends on CBS-FM.
Ingram fans, such as myself, were starving for anything and Soupy came through.
And.... from a radio "geek" perspective, you get to hear Dan do a record intro
with the "WNBC" call letters!
There had been rumors in the '70's that WNBC wanted to lure Dan away from WABC.
I don't know how serious any of that was but hearing Dan on 66 was in and of
itself an event.
Anyone who has an interest in WABC or Dan Ingram (and if you're here, you do)
should listen to this interview.
Dan is still very much "WABCesque"; meaning this is before the oldies influence
that would come later.
He's more like his WABC persona than his CBS-FM persona (if you will).
(Regulars to the NYRMB may recognize some of the
callers!)

Howard Cosell and Muhammad Ali in the
WABC Studios in 1965

Howard Cosell was a staple on WABC long before he became an
ABC TV Network star on Monday Night Football.
He was also a good friend of Muhammad Ali
and interviewed him on WABC.
Here is a Howard Cosell Promo for one of his WABC appearances:
